Erika Glick

Erika Glick has almost twenty years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education, as a teacher, a consultant, and an administrator. Erika acquired a dual Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Hunter College in New York City. While there, she taught in several highly regarded and innovative programs that continue to be replicated throughout New York State. Previous to this, Erika worked as a curriculum coordinator, an assistant director, and an interim director at two very successful childcare centers. She holds New York State Professional Teaching Certifications for children from Birth to 2nd Grade as well as for Children with Disabilities. Erika has extensive experience with curriculum development, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practice. Most recently, Erika has opened Perfect Fit Preschool, a local Katonah school offering an intimate, individualized approach to early play-based learning. Erika and her husband reside in Katonah with their two young children.

Robin Pagano

Robin has nearly 20 years of teaching experience with the toddler, preschool and elementary populations.  She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Science.  She received her Master of Science in Education, with the Deanʼs Award for Academic Excellence from St. Johnʼs University.  Robin is New York State certified as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.  She has worked as a tenured speech language therapist in the Pleasantville School District.  Robin was a member of the Committee on Special Education, Committee on Preschool Special Education, Child Study Team and Kindergarten Screening Team.  She was a consultant to the kindergarten teachers managing program planning for phonological awareness, rhyming and sound-symbol associations.  Robin also worked as a private speech language consultant throughout Westchester County.  She provided articulation and language therapy to the Birth to 5 populations through home-based and preschool settings.  Most recently, she was a teacher at Perfect Fit Preschool in Katonah.  Robin lives in Katonah with her husband and two children.

Heidi Cambareri

Heidi has a B.S. degree in Special Education with concentrations in Psychology and Spanish from SUNY Geneseo. She received a Master’s degree in Reading and Writing from Manhattanville College and holds permanent NYS certification in Special Education and in Reading. She first taught as an elementary Special Education teacher in Hawaii and then at JFK Elementary School in Brewster. In Brewster, she taught children in grades K-2 and helped design an early intervention summer program for incoming Kindergartners. After 7 ½ years in Brewster, she took time off when her daughters were born to focus on her family. After tutoring and working as a substitute teacher at area preschools and Somers Central Schools, Heidi joined the staff at Lissie’s Katonah Playschool in the Fall of 2013. Heidi is currently teaching the afternoon 4s class.  She lives in Somers with her husband and two daughters.

Margot Liffiton

Margot earned her B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology and a Teaching Certification for High School from Colby College in Waterville, ME.  She taught HS Biology and General Science in Illinois. After relocating east, Margot formed a partnership to develop and teach a wide variety of age-appropriate and hands-on science programs for preschool and elementary school students. She has taught these programs at preschools, libraries, scout programs, Somers Park and Rec, and Brookside Elementary School in Ossining. With LKPS, Margot developed and taught a Kindergarten enrichment program to supplement the local schools half day programming.  At Katonah Village Kids, in addition to teaching 3’s, Margot developed a science curriculum and teaches an extended day, enrichment program.  Margot lives in Somers with her husband and two children.

Darlene Merrill

Darlene received her B.A. degree in advertising design from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. She has always had a love for art, and particularly illustration and crafts. However, since she loved working with children, she returned to school for her teacher’s certification and M.A. degree in early childhood education at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After teaching kindergarten for two years in Maryland, Darlene returned to Westchester County where she grew up.

Since her return to New York, she has worked four years as an educational director in the Bronx and three years running a laboratory preschool program at a high school career and tech program. Most recently, Darlene has spent the last three years working as a nanny for two preschoolers in Katonah. As the children she cared for move on to full-day programs, she is excited to be back in a classroom. Darlene lives in Mahopac with her fiancé and their two children.

Karen McCarthy

Karen has a B.A in Communications from The University of New Hampshire. In 2013, she also received her Child Development Associates certification to enable her to further her education as it relates to Birth through age 5. She has participated in many training program offered through the Childcare Council of Westchester and stays current on education related topics through her membership in NAEYC. Karen has worked in various preschools over the last 8 years including American Gymnastics Gym Care before starting as an assistant teacher at LKPS in 2009. She also has experience working with children from age 5 to 18 as a Girl Scout leader and religious education teacher for the last 15 years. Karen is very active in her children’s schools, serving as a board member of their PTA for many years. Karen lives in Golden’s Bridge with her husband and her three children.

Chris Purcell

Chris Purcell has a degree in Chemistry from SUNY Fredonia. She is a self-proclaimed Science Geek and loves sharing her science experiments and knowledge with kids. “The best part is seeing their little faces when they figure something out for the first time!” Chris has taught Science Enrichment classes at Bedford Hills Elementary School and the Science Lunch Bunch class at Katonah Playschool since 2007. She lives in Bedford Hills with her husband and 2 sons, both of whom are taller than her.
